The Llano County District Attorney Tuesday confirmed that the woman accused of causing a crash that killed an 11-year-old girl and injured several others has been indicted on six counts.
Lynda Mescher was indicted on one count manslaughter, one count injury to a child with serious bodily injury and four counts of injury to a child in the January crash.
Brianna Plehn, 11, was one of several children who were staying an at overnight camp at her Silver Trails Horse Ranch in Spicewood when officers say she took the group away from the camp; and out for a ride at the LCRA Grelle Recreation Area in the middle of the night.
According to an affidavit, Mescher was driving a Ford pickup truck, and she let the children ride in the bed. Officers say Mescher was driving in an open field, making right hand turns too fast, and lost control. The truck's tire got stuck in the dirt; officers say it rolled over and all six children were thrown from the bed.
Initially, Mescher was charged only in the injuries of one child.
