SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Police arrested three juveniles Tuesday for a fire that severely damaged a historic building in San Marcos.
Two boys, ages 14 and 16, and a 14-year-girl were charged with arson and criminal mischief in the Sunday fire at the Old Fish Hatchery Community Building.
The historic building, constructed in 1894-95, is used as the office for the San Marcos National Fish Hatchery.
The building suffered major damage to the back stairs and porch, and interior smoke and water damage.
Initial repair costs are estimated at between $75,000 and $150,000.
Firefighters said the investigation is ongoing.
