SAN ANTONIO -- A small plane heading to New Braunfels crashed Friday morning in Kansas.

Our sister station KENS 5 says KWCH-TV is reporting that a plane crashed in southeast Sedgwick County around 10:15 a.m.

A Federal Aviation Administration official on the scene said the plane was a Cessna 500 with two people on board, KWCH reported.  There were no survivors, according to KWCH.

Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter told KWCH witnesses reported hearing an explosion before the crash.

The plane was registered to Dr. Ed Dufresne with World Harvest Church. According to his website Dr. Ed Dufresne was scheduled ot speak at World & Spirit Church, located in Schertz, Texas.

The website reads, "Join Pastor David Buesinger as he welcomes Dr. Ed Dufresne at Word & Spirit Church in Schertz, Texas, on October 18, 2013.  There will be teaching and preaching of the Word of God and ministry to the sick." The service was scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

He was then scheduled to speak at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Lockhart on Sunday. That schedule included 9:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. services.

A third appearance was scheduled in Silsbee, Texas at Word of Life Church.
