Crews responding to Leander gas main break

LEANDER, TEXAS - The Leander Fire Department has closed a stretch of FM 2243 in Leander while crews work to repair a gas main break.

LFD said on their Facebook page at 11:10 a.m. Monday that FM 2243 is closed between Bagdad Road and Deercreek Lane, and would be closed "for approximately 5 hours."

The fire department added residents may smell a gas odor, but "there is no need for concern or evacuation at this time." There is a crew on scene monitoring air quality while repairs are underway.
