TCSO identifies 4 victims in Del Valle fire

Authorities identified two men believed to be victims in a fatal Del Valle fire.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office has positively identified the four victims that perished in a fire in Del Valle Thursday morning.

Deputies said Jacob Derr, 25; Brian Lee Satterfield; 41, and David Scott Braswell, 53, of Bastrop were found dead at the scene along the 8300 block of Linden Road. Matthew Aaron Barber, 26, who is a resident of the address in Del Valle, is also among the victims.

Crews were called to the mobile home around 5:50 a.m. Thursday for report of the fire. The sheriff's office said the wounds found on the four were inconsistent with that of a fire, possibly gunshot wounds.

Travis County Fire Rescue told KVUE Thursday morning that the home is located off the road, so it took crews quite some time to get to the fire. When they arrived, no fire hydrants could be located, so there was no water on the scene. Once the fire was put out, half of the mobile home had burned.

Monday, detectives said they were following up on various leads through Crime Stoppers, and they believe a drug deal might have been the key factor that led up to the deaths.

No cause has been determined yet, and the fire marshal said evidence has been submitted to the state arson lab. Travis County Fire Marshals and the Travis County Sheriff's Office are investigating the fire. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 512-475-8477.

This developing story will update as more information becomes available.
