Man in custody after NW Austin SWAT call, police say

AUSTIN – Police have taken a man into custody after a Tuesday morning SWAT call in northwest Austin.

APD said they were called to a home along San Souci Cove shortly after 1 a.m. Aug. 22 after multiple residents called 911 to report hearing gunshots. Police said a woman and child exited the home unharmed, but a man in the home refused to come out.

Police said SWAT and a negotiator were called to the scene. When SWAT entered the home, police said the man - who has not been identified as of 5:45 a.m. Tuesday - was taken into custody.
