Lake LBJ Motel deemed uninhabitable by authorities

KINGSLAND, Texas – Burnet County authorities have deemed the Lake LBJ Motel uninhabitable due to “health and fire safety concerns.”

The Burnet County Sheriff’s Office said in a release early Tuesday afternoon that they, along with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and county constables, investigated the motel “in regards to numerous health and safety concerns.” After investigating and inspecting approximately 23 rooms on June 5, the State Fire Marshal’s Office ordered all residents evacuate “until the identified problems are corrected and fixed.”

The sheriff’s office said around 15 rooms at the motel were occupied at the time people were ordered to evacuate, and that the victim services coordinator is working with tenants for additional housing.
