Police said officers responded to a call of shots fired at the 1825 Place apartments around 5 a.m. May 10. A citizen notified officers of a man - identified Friday as 20-year-old Jose Avidan Martinez - lying in the parking lot. Martinez was taken to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, and police said around 8:40 a.m. that he had died from his injuries.

“I know that there are times when people look out the window when they hear the shots. You saw something, a vehicle description, you saw somebody running. Work with us this is a plea for the community to come together and work with the Pflugerville Police Department,” Police Chief Jessica Robledo said.

A description of the suspect has not been released as of 10:30 a.m. Friday, but anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Pflugerville police at 512-670-5700.
