The man who led Austin police on a slow speed chase last year was expected back in court Friday morning.

Charges were still pending against Bradley Jarrell, despite a mistrial in his court case Thursday night. The trial began earlier in the week.

Jarrell had been charged with aggravated assault against three police officers who were trying to stop him as he drove up and down MoPac.

Prosecutors showed the jury police video from the chase. They claimed Jarrell intentionally tried to run down the officers.

Jarrell's defense attorney argued he only wanted to hurt himself.

In the end, most jurors agreed with the defense.

"I thought he was guilty on all three counts. What was going on in there? A lot of arguing -- a lot of deliberating. It just seemed like those who were voting for not guilty were stuck in their ways," said John Laifeste, a jury member.

Jarrell is expected to face trial on the charges again, but no date has been set.
