Two Austin teenagers remained jailed in Tennessee Tuesday, accused in the shooting death of a state trooper.

Orlando Garcia, 19, and Alejandro Guana, 17, were arrested Sunday at a hotel in downtown Nashville. Trooper Calvin Jenks was found shot to death over the weekend beside his patrol car near a highway intersection.

Authorities believe the teens had drugs in their car.

Garcia and Guana are facing murder charges.

Authorities with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation say that Jenks, 24, pulled-over Garcia and Guana just north of Memphis. At some point during that stop, Jenks was shot dead.

According to the Tennesee arrest warrant Garcia was interviewed and admitted to his role in the shooting of Trooper Jenks. Garcia also implicated the 17 year old juvenile as the shooter in the murder.

"I can tell you that its just a senseless brutal murder," said Mark Gwyn, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The warrant goes on to say the murder was caught on videotape from Trooper Jenks' cruiser and shows the 17 year old shoot the trooper.

"A very fine young man, a very good trooper," said Col. Mike Walker, Tennessee Highway Patrol. "Very sharp, very professional, we had no problems out of him whatsoever. He always did an excellent job."

Trooper Jenks was on the force for just three years. He was newly married and had moved to Tipton County in Tennessee to be close to his wife.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents are checking into the backgrounds of Garcia and Guana in Texas.

It wasn't immediately clear why the two were in Tennessee.
