In today's Exercise Minute, Montana Judd will teach us how to apply foam rolling techniques to our calves. All you will need for this exercise is yourself and a foam roller. If you do not own a foam roller, you can use a baseball bat or water bottle.
Trigger Point Therapy on Calves
For this trigger point exercise, you will sit down with your legs extended out. Next, place one of your calves on the foam roller and place the opposite leg on top of it. Then, locate a sore area on your calves and begin to apply pressure to that area with the foam roller. Use the foam roller to slowly roll across that area and hold the pressure on that spot. Make sure you do not continuously roll over that area because it could potentially cause bruising or injure the muscle.
