In today's Exercise Minute, trainer Justin Wecker will teach us how to do alternating lunges and squats. All you will need for this circuit is yourself.
The first exercise will be an alternating lunge. Start by lunging forward with your right leg and then bring it back into place. Make sure that when you lunge forward, your knee is at a 90-degree angle and that your chest doesn't extend out past your knee. Do the same thing for your left leg and repeat as many lunges as you can for 30 seconds and then take a 30-second break.
The second exercise will be squats. Start off with your feet placed shoulder-length apart, and then go down into the squat position before rising. Make sure that when you go into the squat position that you go down far enough and that your knees don't bend past your toes. Do as many squats as you can for 30 seconds and then rest for 30 seconds.
Alternating Lateral Lunge
The last exercise in this circuit will be alternating lateral lunges. Start off by standing up and then lunge to your left by bringing your leg outwards into a lunge position and then bring your foot back into place. Do the same steps for your right leg. Do as many as you can within 30 seconds and then take a 30-second break before repeating this circuit. Repeat the circuit at least once or as many times as you would like.
