American Cancer Society (ACS)

Includes access to the ACS Breast Cancer Resource Center
which offers information on all aspects of breast cancer
including screening, treatment and support services,
survivorship, research, Reach to Recovery, Look Good…Feel
Better, and more.
Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin www.bcrc.org
A clearinghouse for information on breast cancer detection,
education, treatment and support resources in the Austin
area. Created by breast cancer survivors, it links newly
diagnosed women with a “buddy,” offers support groups
and other direct services. The center serves women with
breast cancer as well as their family and friends, and
strives to enable women to be active, knowledgeable
participants in their healthcare.

Offers easily accessible information on everything from
risk factors to treatment options and support services.
Test your knowledge with the breast cancer quiz, check
out the helpful questions and answers section, order
a free self-exam shower card, browse the book list and
more. Also profiles Race for the Cure efforts, the major
fundraiser for the foundation and the Austin affiliate.
National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations
(NABCO)

Web site of a coalition of breast cancer organizations
focusing on education, information services, outreach
and advocacy. On-line chats, links to clinical trials,
FDA certified mammography facilities and other breast
cancer related sites. Free annual e-mail mammography
reminders and e-mail postcards you can send to remind
others.
Y-Me National Breast Cancer Organization

Provides basic breast cancer information online. Via
telephone offers national Hotline staffed by trained
counselors who have had breast cancer. They provide
information, support and resource referral and male
counselors talk to male partners of breast cancer patients.
Other services include Telefriends for young women with
breast cancer and a bilingual Spanish/English newsletter.

trials, statistics and complementary medicine, as well

ones. Provides a toll-free Counseling Line, plus free
teleconference programs for patients families and professionals.
