Austin Public Health offering free STD tests for World AIDS Day

AUSTIN - December 1 marks World AIDS Day and serves as an opportunity for everyone to come together in solidarity to support those affected by AIDS-related illnesses and the fight against HIV.

There are roughly 4,000 people living with HIV in Travis County alone. Austin Public Health encourages everyone to know their health status and get tested as AIDS is a serious disease. A community and personal effort is needed to evaluate your own sexual health.

In observance of World AIDS Day, Austin Public Health will be providing free HIV and STD tests at two locations in Austin on Friday. No appointment is required.

  • Walgreens: 1144 Airport Boulevard from 5 to 9 pm.
  • MidTowne Live Sports Cafe: 7408 Cameron Road from 4 to 7 pm.
