NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas -- If there's such a thing as the opposite of a protest, this is it.

An 11-year-old girl with a more peaceful objective: To brighten your day before her school day begins.

"I just think of ideas that come to me, that would make people happy," Joey Dorsey said. "And just good sayings."

Dorsey stands on the corner with hand-made signs that carry heartfelt slogans.

"Do more of what makes you happy," one reads. "Be yourself today," said another.

Dorsey, of North Richland Hills, got the idea from a story she saw on TV of a man in Washington, D.C. who does something similar.

"Half-an-hour later, [I] couldn't find her," said mom, Tina Dorsey. "She was in her room, on the floor, making all these signs."

All week people have being stopping to say, "thank you," or at least give her a honk in response to one of her signs -- "Honk if you love someone."

She's making their day. And she's making her own day, too.

"She came running and skipping into the house yesterday, and she said, 'This is the best day ever. I'm the happiest girl in the world,'" Tina Dorsey said.

So it's fitting the flip side of one of her signs read "Today is AWESOME."

And then, it's off to school.
