The City of San Marcos Thursday launched a new program to help residents pay for their prescription drugs.

Using the city's new discount cards, you can save around 20 percent on many commonly prescribed drugs.

It doesn't cost anything to get the card, and it can be used anytime your prescriptions aren't covered by insurance.

The plan is sponsored by the National League of Cities and is only open to residents of San Marcos.
