AUSTIN -- Students and parents are left with a lot of questions following Tuesday's student suicide at Lanier High School in North Austin.

Dr. Caron Farrell is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Seton Mind Institute. She spoke to KVUE about the warning signs of suicide and how to help your children cope if they witness a traumatic event like the one at Lanier High School.

People needing help following this traumatic event are encouraged to call Austin Travis County Integral Care’s crisis hotline at 512-472-4357.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is also an available resource. That can be reached at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
