New numbers from one of the largest weekly illness tracking companies shows flu like symptoms are on the rise in Austin.
According to SDI, 30 percent more Austinites have or are suffering from flu-like symptoms compared to this same time last year.
Nationally, doctors’ offices are reporting a 50 percent increase in people suffering upper respiratory illnesses.
Since only about 5.8 percent of Austin has reported problems so far, doctors expect the cases of flu like illnesses to continue to rise.
