LYTLE, Texas -- Tracy Barth says her 15-year-old daughter sat quietly in her gym class, not knowing what to do as school leaders flashed images of diseased genitalia on the screen before her.

Her daughter wanted to walk out of the gynmasium, Barth said, but was afraid she would have gotten in trouble. The concerned mom said she had no idea the school would be showing actual pictures of infected male and female genitalia -- especially in a co-ed freshmen class.

"I was livid" Barth said. "I couldn't believe the school did this without my permission. To view the video? No. No."

Officials with the Lytle Independent School District said in a written statement that they're comfortable with the sex education they have chosen.

According to the statement:

"A procedure for implementation was discussed in district-wide leadership meeting but unfortunately was not followed by a few employees. We will work to see that corrections are made."

Barth said she is tired miscommunication from the school district. She spoke with the principal after hearing about the classroom content from her daughter, but still felt the need to contact KENS 5.

"I want Lytle Independent School District to take responsibility for their actions," she said. "This is not the first time they have done something like this."
