LIBERTY HILL, Texas --  A drinking water well in Liberty Hill has been taken out of service after being tested positive for E. coli contamination.

Severn Trent Services Operations Director Scott Manuel said the well was taken offline Monday and the city is disinfecting it. He says it will not affect residents' drinking water.

Being infected with E. coli can cause short--term health effects like diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches or other symptoms.
