KYLE, Texas -- Every 13 minutes a woman dies from breast cancer, but in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, students at Kyle's Lehman High School hosted a "shave-a-thon."
The money raised will help pay for mammograms for women who cannot afford to pay for one.
The buzz-off had a deeper meaning for some students because of Yvette Sutton. She's a teacher at Lehman High School and is battling breast cancer.
The idea of the shave-a-thon was in support of Sutton and grew into a bigger initiative.
"I think that people don't know how awesome kids can be, and I think right here today we are finding out great kids are out there," Sutton said.
About 50 people shaved their heads including the entire baseball team.
