HOUSTON, Texas -- Sometimes a good wireless Internet connection is all Santa Claus needs to do his job.

On Wednesday, he traveled from the North Pole through cyberspace to speak with sick children at Texas Children’s Hospital.

His “elves” wheeled a big screen of him up elevators and across corridors.

The program is called “Santa Connection” and is sponsored by Cisco Systems. It is designed so that sick kids, who cannot leave the hospital, can give Santa their wish lists.

Parents had their wishes too.

Melissa Zarzoza said she wants her infant son’s third heart surgery to be a success and for him to come home.

“All I want is for my kids to be there with me,” she said.

“Santa Connection” is being offered this year at 30 hospitals around the country.

“It gives kids a big smile and I’m really happy about that,” mother Lashirua Hamilton said.
