Texas health officials launch flu Web site

Texas health officials unveiled a new Web site Friday, , that will track flu activity throughout the state as well as the availability of the H1N1, or swine flu, vaccine.

The site also includes tips on ways to prevent the spread of flu, answers to frequently asked questions, technical information intended for health care professionals, and other resoruces.

It will be updated regularly, so people can stay better informed about the current flu outbreak, said Doug McBride, spokesman for the Texas Department of State Health Services.

So far, the H1N1 vaccine is "trickling out" and not available to the public, he said.
