Dell Children's Medical Center Monday removed equipment and took down its emergency flu tents.
The hospital set up two of the tents on September 22 to handle the huge volume of patients. A third was added a week later.
Hospital officials say the case load has dropped to the point where those patients can be treated in the hospital's emergency room.
"I think that the peak incidence has passed, at least for children. But we're going to continue to see pockets of high activity in different areas of the community. And across the country you'll see other cities go through very similar exercises as we did," said Pat Crocker, M.D., Dell Children's Medical Center.
At one point, Dell Children's Medical Center was treating more than 400 flu patients a day.
Right now doctors are seeing about 250 a day.
