UNDATED -- The Drug Enforcement Administration is stepping up its fight against Molly, the latest nickname given to the powder form of ecstasy.
Authorities said it's now responsible for several deaths across the nation.
A major music festival in New York was canceled after two people died and for others became critically ill. It appears all six individuals were involved with the club drug Molly.
At the House of Blues in Boston, another death and several overdoses were due to the drug.
Molly may be news to some, but many young people say it's everywhere. It can come in pill form, it can be snorted or mixed with drinks. It's cheap and users think it's not dangerous but experts said it can cause strokes, heart attacks and even death.
Reports in San Antonio suggest there may be an increase in the popularity of the drug.
Reports said some people in their 40s and 50s who used the drug as young people are now experiencing the side effects of Parkinson's.
