Austin Police are charging the man, 33-year old David Snyder with kidnapping.

Detectives and the girl's mother say the teenager met the man on a website called Craigslist in July.

The two struck up an online relationship, one which the girl's mother stumbled upon this summer.

"They started communicating by text-message, I found out about it, took the phone away and we thought that was the end of it" says Melissa Trimble, the mother of 15-year old Mary Catherine Villareal.

But it wasn't the end, in fact the teenager's mother later discovered that the relationship between her daughter and Snyder reignited.

"We did take her cell phone away but she had access to friends who had cell phones, she apparently went over to people's houses and used their internet, the kids will find a way to do it" says Trimble.

On Wednesday, transit police in Newark, New Jersey found the couple on a Greyhound bus and arrested Snyder.

He's charged with kidnapping.

"Once you travel beyond a 120-mile radius with a subject under the age of 17 without the consent of the guardian or parent then you are basically committing the offense of unlawful restraint" says Detective James Scott of A.P.D.'s Missing Persons unit.

Detective Scott also says that more charges may be filed against Snyder pending the outcome of the investigation.

A background search done by KVUE shows that David Snyder was arrested in May of this year on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child from another case.
