AUSTIN -- Oprah Winfrey discussed her Monday interview with Lance Armstrong on CBS News. The highly-anticipated interview took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Austin.

Winfrey said Armstrong was forthcoming in the two-and-half-hour sit-down.

"It was surprising to me, for myself, my team and all of us in the room. We were mesmerized and riveted by some of his answers," Winfrey said.

Winfrey said she prepared for the interview by reading books, magazines and news articles and had 112 questions ready.

"The answers that people around the world have been waiting to hear were answered, and certainly, I can only say I was satisfied with the answers," Winfrey said.

Armstrong's admission to Winfrey comes after more than a decade of denying doping allegations.

The World Anti-Doping Agency said Armstrong must make a full confession under oath before the agency decides whether to lift his lifetime ban.

Sources also said Armstrong is in talks with the United States Postal Service and may pay back a portion of the sponsorship

The first of Oprah's two-part interview airs Thursday Jan. 17 on her network and will stream on her website.
