CEDAR PARK, Texas – Authorities have charged a former Leander Independent School District middle school teacher with aggravated sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between a student and an educator.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said Nicole Marie Faires Andrews, a former teacher at Cedar Park Middle School, was arrested Dec. 12 on the charges. The sheriff’s office said they opened the investigation into Andrews on Oct. 24, and that she allegedly met the victim at Church at Canyon Creek where Andrews was a volunteer youth administrator. Court documents for Andrews state the victim is a student at Vandegrift High School.
The student told police during an interview that there were around a dozen instances where he and Andrews were in sexual contact, and that Andrews sent a topless picture of herself through social media.
The Church at Canyon Creek issued the following statement to KVUE Tuesday evening:
"Our hearts go out to the victim and the family, and we ask for prayer for all involved. We are working with the authorities and fully cooperating with this investigation."
Andrews was employed with Leander ISD starting in August 2015, and resigned on Nov. 6, 2017. She was booked into the Williamson County Jail on Tuesday, and jail records state she was released Wednesday after posting combined $50,000 bond.
