Man indicted in deadly Fourth of July hit-and-run

MARBLE FALLS, Texas – A Cottonwood Shores man has been indicted in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 60-year-old woman after a Fourth of July fireworks show.

The Burnet County District Attorney’s office says Thomas Pfeifer Jr., 33, has been charged with manslaughter and manslaughter with vehicle. Marble Falls police allege Pfeifer struck Cynthia Lee Young around 10:50 p.m. July 4 at the intersection of Main and Yett Streets. Young was flown to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, where she died from her injuries. Police said Pfeifer fled the scene after the crash, but later turned himself in.

Pfeifer was booked into the Burnet County Jail and has posted bond, online records show.
