26 guns stolen from pawn shop; reward offered for info leading to arrest

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundations have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused of stealing 26 firearms from a Copperas Cove, Texas, pawn shop.

COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS - Two groups are offering up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused of stealing 26 guns from a Copperas Cove pawn shop.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) announced the reward Thursday, saying that the ATF is offering up to $5,000, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total of up to $10,000.

The ATF said the burglary took place on Sept. 3 around 10:10 p.m. at the Kwik Cash Pawn located at 401 West Business Highway 190 in Copperas Cove. The suspect was described as approximately six feet tall, 220 pounds and in his mid to late 20s. Surveillance video depicts him wearing a red sweatshirt, light-colored pants, a black backpack with a light-colored cloth or T-shirt covering his face.

The suspect's vehicle was described as an older black sedan, possibly a Honda.

The crime is being investigated by the ATF and the Copperas Cove Police Department. Anyone with more information is asked to contact ATF at 1-800-ATF-TIPS or the Copperas Cove Police Department at 254-547-8222.
