Police seeking assistance in October 2016 shooting

AUSTIN - Police are asking the public’s help in locating the suspect in an October 2016 shooting in South Austin.

APD said they were called to the 1200 block of Armadillo Road around 12:55 a.m. Oct. 30 for a report of shots fired. Witnesses at a party in the neighborhood said there was a white Audi speeding down the road, and that it crashed into a pickup truck before striking a tree in the front yard of a home.

Police said family and friends of the driver of the pickup truck attacked the Audi’s occupants, during which the driver, identified as Jacob Camacho, 20, was shot. Camacho attempted to run down the street, where he collapsed from gunshot wounds and died at the scene. His passenger was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with what at the time was described as “non-life threatening injuries.”

Police released a photo of the suspect's vehicle:

Anyone with information on this murder is asked to call APD’s Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588, or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
