Victim identified in Central East Austin murder

AUSTIN - Police are searching for the person or persons behind a teen’s murder after his body was found in Central East Austin Sunday night.

APD said officers were called to the 7400 block of Geneva Drive around 8:50 p.m. Sunday for a report of an unconscious man lying on the side of the road. Austin-Travis County EMS also responded, and 19-year-old Kenneth Johnson, Jr. was pronounced dead around 9:05 p.m., police said.

Police said Johnson had been shot multiple times and they believe someone brought Johnson to Geneva Drive and dropped him off there after he was shot. APD added they believe he was in the Manor Road area prior to his death.
