Police: One arrested in string of armed robberies

AUSTIN - Police said one person has been arrested in a series of armed robberies over the weekend, and authorities are looking for the second person.

Austin and Pflugerville police on Monday asked for the public’s help in identifying the two people. APD announced Tuesday that a "juvenile female suspect" had been arrested. The identity of the woman has not been released as of 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the woman entered four businesses Sept. 17 and 18, displayed a weapon and demanded money. Pflugerville police reported that the woman was accompanied by a man during the Sept. 18 robbery.

APD and PPD said the robberies occurred at the following locations and times:

  • Walgreen’s, 9307 North Lamar Blvd., 7:20 a.m. Sept. 17;
  • La Michoacana, 946 Payton Gin Road, 5:55 p.m. Sept. 17;
  • Walgreen’s, 12250 Metric Blvd., 10:10 p.m. Sept. 17;
  • Walgreen’s, 1509 West Wells Branch Parkway, 2:55 p.m. Sept. 18.

In each robbery the woman fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The man in the Pflugerville robbery is described by police as Hispanic and in his late teens or early 20s, 5-feet 7-inches to 5-feet 9-inches tall, having a thin build and a goatee.

Anyone with information on the robbers is asked to call the APD Robbery Unit Tip Line at 512-974-5092, or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS or texting "Tip 103" and your message to CRIMES.
