AUSTIN - The second suspect in the Aug. 20 shooting of a 24-year-old man on Decker Lane is in custody, the Travis County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff’s office identified Damon Daniel Fowler, 37, as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of first-degree murder. Fowler and Donald Ray Perkins, 50, were allegedly behind the fatal shooting of Kennie Wayne Crockett at a gas station along Decker Lane. An affidavit obtained by KVUE after the shooting showed Crockett had called 911 before the shooting and that the shooting was heard by dispatchers.
Perkins was arrested Aug. 21 on a first-degree murder charge. The sheriff's office told KVUE late Friday morning that Fowler was taken into custody without incident and was booked in the Travis County Jail. Online records state both Perkins and Fowler are being held on $250,000 bond.
