Suspects in Dripping Springs thefts, burglaries arrested

DRIPPING SPRINGS, TEXAS - Two men believed to be behind several burglaries and thefts in Dripping Springs earlier this month have been arrested.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office said their deputies responded to the 100 block of Glosson Road around 6 a.m. Sept. 1 for a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located around one hour later in the Timberline Drive area, and the sheriff’s office also responded to several vehicle burglaries in the West Cave and Legacy Trails subdivisions.

Using evidence collected at the scenes, detectives were assisted by SWAT, Hays County Joint Narcotics Task Force and the sheriff’s office in arresting Jimmy Von Tray Evans, 20, and Bobby Trevino, 19. Evans was arrested on two counts of burglary of a vehicle and an outstanding warrant on Sept. 5. Trevino was arrested for theft of a firearm and felony theft Sept. 6.

The sheriff’s office said evidence was recovered that linked the men to the reported crimes, along with methamphetamine and marijuana. They added additional arrests are expected.

Online records at the Hays County Jail state Trevino is being held on a combined $20,000 bond, and Evans is being held on combined $16,000 bond.
