Researchers at UC Berkley say wearing lipstick could be dangerous.

 

A test of 32 commonly sold lipsticks and glosses show they contain lead, cadmium, chromium and other metals, sometimes at toxic levels. The authors suggest the levels be regulated.

There is good news if you're thinking of traveling this summer. Airfares are cheaper than they were a year ago for nine of the top 10 summer destinations, including Orlando, Las Vegas and Hololulu. Orbitz also says more than three-quarters of Americans plan to take a summer vacation.

The National Retail Federation says on average, consumers expect to spend almost $169 on mother's day this year -- up 11 percent from last year. The survey says some consumers may go for group gifts so they can buy mom a tablet, smartphone, jewelry, or cashmere sweater.

Taco Bell is planning to go national with its "one-dollar cravings" menu after a positive response in Sacramento and Kansas City.

Baristas at Starbucks are bracing for the rush. Starting Friday through May 12, Starbucks is offering half off frappuccinos from 3-5 p.m. The frappuccino happy hour is designed to increase customer awareness of the frozen beverage they say they can serve in 36,000 different combinations.
