SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- San Antonio post offices are already getting busy with Christmas "wish lists." More than a thousand are expected to be processed to Santa Claus.
The letters are pouring into the mailroom. They're addressed very simply, and many of them are written in crayon.
The city's main post office received a hundred letters just Wednesday.
The Postmaster told KVUE's sister station KENS, the letters will be sent to the Anchorage, Alaska, postal station for eventual delivery to the North Pole.
And if kids put their return addresses on them, the Postal Service says Santa is quick to respond.
"We make sure that every, every person that writes a letter to Santa, we get them to Santa and he makes sure they get a letter back," said U.S. Postmaster Robert Carr.
Officials said the Santa letters begin in earnest right after Thanksgiving and last up until Christmas Eve.
