AUSTIN -- This summer plenty of you probably enjoyed a great beach vacation, and while playing in the sand is fun, it makes a huge mess and sticks to everything.

Now one product promises to let you have your sandbox without the hassle. KVUE's Quita Culpepper put sand to the test on Does It Work Wednesday.

It's called: Sand. This stuff is 98 percent sand and two percent polymer.

Pack it, pull it, shape it. It never dries out and supposedly won't make a mess.

Quita headed to Stepping Stone school where Aaron and Fallon were ready to dive in.

This 21st century sand is soft and stretchy.

"It's really squishy," Fallon said.

It's kind of like Play-Doh.

"Let's make a pancake or a sandcastle," Aaron said.

The little sand artists were fascinated by the way the sand oozed between their fingers, yet kept its shape when they wanted it to.

Quita asked Fallon, "Can you do that with regular sand? " He responded, saying, "No, only sticky sand. It's kind of like...I'm gonna make a hat!"

Surprisingly the sand isn't all over the place. It's much less sticky than the regular stuff.

"This sand doesn't make more mess than the other sand that we play with at the beach," Fallon said.

While some sand did end up on the floor, clean-up was fast and easy, since the sand mostly sticks to itself and not to your skin.

Aaron decided he hates it. "Thumbs down. Can I leave?" he said.

But Fallon was a sand fan. "Thumbs up!" she said.

You can find sand at Brookstone. It costs about $20 a can.
