More states are making convicted drunk drivers easier to spot.
Two more states are proposing legislation this year to force people convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol to use brightly colored license plates.
Some compare the DUI plates to the "scarlet letter."
A bill proposed in Maryland will brand vehicles for five years with orange license plates beginning with the letters "DUI".
Supporters say the plates let other drivers and police know who's on the road. But opponents say the fines are punishment enough.
Ohio, Georgia and Minnesota already have such laws in place.
