AUSTIN -- Hundreds of people around town are shopping for the best deals on Black Friday.

The Best Buy store in Northwest Austin opened at midnight, but shoppers continued to trickle in hours later. The general manager of the store says several of the doorbuster items are still in stock, including $200 laptops and flat screen TV's that are priced hundreds of dollars lower than normal.

"I'm looking for an XBOX, I'm looking for a new phone, and a flat screen they had on sale so hopefully I can catch one of them," said shopper Yvette Miller.

Others said that some of prices didn't seem as rock bottom as last year.

"I was not looking for anything in particular but so far I've found a couple of good deals, but I don't believe the deals are as good as they have been in the past," said shopper Lisa Watson.

Big box stores including Walmart and Old Navy opened on Thanksgiving, but the deals continued Friday morning.

An estimated 147 million Americans will go shopping on Black Friday, but a recent study found only 57 percent of shoppers "enjoy the experience."
