CultureMap Austin -- From a new branch of Dallas seafood shack Hook Line & Sinker to ultra-hot Sway Thai in Austin to coming-soon Lee's Fried Chicken & Donuts in Houston, we've seen news of many restaurants opening in 2013. And it will only get better: A report by the National Restaurant Association says that the Texas restaurant industry will lead the country in sales growth this year.

According to the 2013 Restaurant Industry Forecast, sales at Texas restaurants will hit $40.8 billion, a 5 percent increase over 2012, and will employ 1,074,200 people. Employment gains will continue into the next decade, with an expected increase to 1,245,000 employees, or nearly 16 percent.
