Two restaurants failed their recent health inspections, and one restaurant is a repeat offender.

>La Reyna on South First Street failed its recent Austin/Travis County health inspection with a score of 58. Violations included an accumulation of mold on the soda gun and the interior of the ice machine. The inspector also noted an accumulation of food particles on the cheese grater, mixer and surfaces of utensils. Two grill employees were also observed handling tortillas and tacos without gloves.
This is the third time La Reyna has failed its inspection within 24 months. On the required follow up inspection, La Reyna scored a 90.
Casa Moreno on Burleson Road failed its health inspection with a score of 69. Among the problems noted were an employee failed to wash hands after cracking eggs and then handling clean dishes. Potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food was held for more than 24 hours with a discard date. There was an accumulation of food particles on the cheese grater and other utensils.
On the required follow up inspection Casa Moreno scored a 75.
