Three restaurants get in trouble with the health inspector in this week's Eat, Drink & Be Wary.
La Michaacan, 6908 Cameron Road, failed its health inspection with a score of 65. Among the critical violations: the inspector noticed an employee fail to sanitize their hands prior to handling ready-to-eat hamburger buns; there were dented cans spotted on the shelf; and several moldy pieces of fruit in the produce section. On the follow-up inspection, La Michaacan passed with a 91.
El Meson, 5808 Burleson Road, failed with a score of 63. Violations spotted by the health inspector include an accumulation of food particles on spoon, spatulas, bowls and in the mixer. There was also no thermometer in the walk-in cooler and no soap in the men's restroom. On the required follow-up, El Meson passed with a 76.
Thai Kitchen, 3437 Bee Caves Road, failed with a score of 65. The inspector spotted rodent droppings along the wall in the dry storage room; an employee was observed not properly washing their hands by not using soap; and food particles was found inside deep grooves on the nylon cutting board. On the re-inspection, Thai Kitchen passed with an 83.
