>We begin at Dragon Gate Restaurant which is at 3801 Capitol of Texas Highway. The restaurant failed its health inspection with a score of 58. Critical violations included sewage water from a sink leaking on raw beef that was stored beneath the sink. The inspector also found raw chicken being stored directly above ready-to-eat onions, no soap or paper towels at the hand sink and a toxic spray bottle stored near the sushi area.
On the required follow-up inspection Dragon Gate scored a 93.
Now to Las Delicias Meat Market at 111 West William Cannon. When an inspector paid a surprise visit this eatery failed with a 54. Among the violations -- diced ham stored in contact with raw chorizo and raw chicken stored in contact with raw beef in the display case. The inspector observed the improper hot and cold holding of a variety of foods. And there were unknown particles on ice in the ice machine.
On the follow-up inspection Las Delicias received a 91.
La Michaacan at 6908 Cameron Road failed its health inspection with a 65. The inspector noticed an employee fail to sanitize their hands prior to handling ready-to-eat hamburger buns. There were some dented cans spotted on the shelf and several moldy pieces for fruit in the produce section.
On the follow-up inspection La Michaacan passed with a 91
Finally we stop at La Reyna at 1816 South 1st Street in South Austin. This eatery also failed with a 65. An employee's half eaten popsicle was found in the freezer next to the meat. The inspector also found an employee's food -- partially eaten -- stored next to the clean plates.
And to wrap it all up, three dead cock roaches were found in a storage closet plus gnats and fruit flies were spotted in the kitchen area.
On the required follow-up inspection La Reyna passed with a 76.
