Two restaurants in Williamson County fail their most recent health inspection.
El Matador, 113 West Main Street, in Round Rock. Williamson County gives restaurants demerits when the health department finds a problem. El Matador received 39 demerits. Among the problems: Inspectors found a contamination of fruit flies in the restaurant. They were also cited for improper cold holding of food, like meat enchiladas, at 83 degrees and the walk-in cooler was only 41 degrees. On the required follow-up, El Matador passed with zero demerits.
Linda's Kitchen, on West 2nd Street in Taylor, failed its health inspection with 36 demerits. Problems include the improper cold holding of food. The inspector also marked their score down because of the hygienic practices of one or more employees and trouble with the hand washing facilities. On the follow-up inspection, Linda's Kitchen was perfect with zero demerits.
