Results of a new study rank Amazon as the most reputable company in the U.S., beating out last year's first place, Apple.
The Harrison Interactive study took feedback from 14,000 respondents to rank 60 of the most visible companies in the country.
Amazon scored highly in five of six judging criteria, leading in emotional appeal and product and services. More than half said they discussed Amazon with friends and family last year and nearly 100 percent said their conversations were positive.
Last year, Amazon ranked fourth. It's scored highly on the list for the past five years.
Apple ranked second place this year. Others in the top five were Walt Disney, Google, and Johnson & Johnson. Companies ranking poorly included Bank of America, Comcast, American Airlines and AIG.
Respondents' views of Corporate America improved by seven percent this year, but were still negative overall. Only 28 percent said they view Corporate America as good or excellent, while 44 percent said they view it as poor or terrible.
