AUSTIN -- A favorite burger joint is coming to Texas. Austin to be exact.
The first-ever Shake Shack is heading to the Lone Star State in 2014.
Shake Shack will be built in the new development which will include the newly renovated Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar.
The first Shake Shack opened in New York City in 2004. The company has expanded to several states including Pennsylvania and Florida. Their famous modern "roadside" burger stand is famous for their natural angus beef burgers, hot dogs and fresh custard.
“We’re thrilled to plant our feet in the great state of Texas,” said CEO Randy Garutti. “Austin embraces all of the important things in life—food, music, community and culture—we’re excited to be on South Lamar that puts us in the heart of it all.
The menu for the Austin store will include wine and beer as well as frozen custard.
