Even when money's tight, sales figures show it's hard to resist one annual treat.
Girl Scouts work year round preparing for their annual cookie sale.
The Girl Scouts Council of Central Texas says despite the recession, sales numbers are up. In fact, local girl scouts have seen an increase in revenue every year since they started selling cookies.
That's important because the sale is the biggest fundraiser for the group, and it helps them meet the organization's needs.
"It does fundraise, and support local Girl Scout programs for the girls, not only for troop activities, (but) it also supports council programs that we offer the girls throughout the year," said Kanda Fierro, Girl Scouts of Central Texas.
Last year's sale brought in $2.1 million for the Girl Scouts of Central Texas.
This year's sale is now underway and will continue until February 26.
