$716M iron-ore pellet factory coming to Corpus Christi Bay

Get ready to hear more about  Voestalpine. The Austria company will build a $716M iron-ore pellet factory on the Corpus Christi Bay. The company which makes steel for airplanes, cars and train tracks says they made their decision based on political support and access to energy supplies in Texas. Operations are expected to start in 2016.

Biz Journals says the Cline Shale could be the next big oil play in West Wexas and several Texas companies are investing millions in exploration there.

The Shale stretches over 10 counties between Midland and Odessa, Abilene and San Angelo.

In an effort to reduce traffic and congestion on I-35 through Austin and Central Texas, the Texas Department of Transportation says it will reduce tolls for an entire year on these highways. This actually extends a pilot program that ended on March 3 after it showed traffic increased on these roads by 50 percent.

Looks like Galveston is about to get more more crowded for Spring Break.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to visit the island in the next few days -- and get ready for hotel sticker shock.

In a survey, Houstonhotels.net says hotel rooms in Galveston are doubling at $200 a night while South Padre Island is seeing hotel rates triple the normal price.
