DETROIT (AP) — Wayne County officials say a Chicago developer has until Friday to make a $100,000 deposit on his $2.003 million bid for a sprawling former Detroit car plant.
Payment on William Hults' bid was due at the close of business Thursday, but officials are giving him an extra day.
The Detroit Free Press says Hults also has to prove Friday that he can come up with the rest of the money.
A Texas doctor's $6 million top bid on the blighted property was thrown out Wednesday after she missed a payment.
The No. 3 bid is $2.002 million by Fernando Palazuelo of Peru.
Dr. Jill Van Horn of Ennis, Texas, tells The Detroit News she's still is hopeful her $6 million bid will be reconsidered.
